Notes as a Shared Context Layer
In ARMES, Notes are fundamentally different from conversation history. While chat threads are ephemeral work streams, your Notes represent your permanent, structured knowledge base—product specifications, brand guidelines, meeting takeaways, client briefs, and reference code.
Crucially, every agent on your team can search, read, and update your Notes during conversations.
Notes vs. Memory
Notes represent information about your work and the world (documents, specs, research). Memory represents atomic facts about you (your role, preferences, goals). Agents treat Notes as reference manuals and Memory as your personal identity envelope.

Core Capabilities
1. Markdown & Rich Text Editing
The ARMES Notes editor supports full GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM):
- Headers, bold, italics, strikethrough
- Formatted tables with alignment
- Syntax-highlighted code blocks with language detection
- Interactive task checklists
2. Nested Folders & Categorization
Organize your workspace hierarchically:
- Create folders (e.g.,
Marketing, 2026 Campaigns, Product Launch). - Assign custom color accents and tags for quick visual filtering.
- Filter notes by project lens (e.g., only show notes relevant to Project Phoenix).
3. Native Agent Integration
During any chat conversation, your agents can seamlessly interact with your Notes:
- Search Notes: Locates relevant guidelines, meeting notes, and documentation when you ask related questions.
- Read Notes: Reviews the full text of specific notes to ground responses in your internal knowledge.
- Draft & Save Notes: Easily promote key conversation takeaways, project plans, and research directly into a new note.
- Update Notes: Append findings or update existing checklists with your confirmation.
- Project Scoping: Agents will have access to currently selected Project. Notes not scoped to a project will be accessible from any Project. If no project is selected, Agents will have acces to everything.
Optimize Note (Eco+)
Rough notes often contain stream-of-consciousness thoughts, typos, and fragmented bullet points. With Optimize Note, you can instantly transform unstructured notes into clear, production-grade documentation.
- Open any note in the editor.
- Click the Optimize Note button in the top action bar.
- Our background optimization agent analyzes your text and:
- Structures content into logical headings and clear sections.
- Fixes grammatical inconsistencies while preserving your original intent.
- Formats technical references into code blocks or structured tables.
- Press the Optimize Note button again and it will undo the optimization if no changes were made after processing.
Importing & Exporting
- Export Formats: Export individual notes or entire folders as clean Markdown (
.md), HTML, DOCX, TXT, or PDF documents. - Import Support: Import button or drag and drop files or text documents directly.
